How to Choose Your Brand Color Palette

Your color palette is one of the most powerful and visual tools of your brand. It assists in setting the mood for your brand and helps you communicate meaning before you ever say a word. The color palette you choose will be fully integrated into every part of your brand, not just your logo. Your colors should be consistent in your website, social media, photography, print materials, logo, and even your wardrobe!

Takeaways from a week with my Mastermind Group

A few weeks ago, I travelled to Charleston, South Carolina with my mastermind group for a week of exploring and most importantly, masterminding! If you aren't familiar with what a mastermind is, it's a group of people that get together and collectively work through ideas, problems, projects, etc. in their businesses. For Sarah, Kate, and me, we meet over Google Hangout once a month, and aim to meet once or twice a year in person.

Ask Emily: How Do You Cultivate New (Ideal) Clients?

Question: "How do you cultivate new clients? Particularly finding the right clients for you. Most of my clients are word of mouth, and they aren’t always the type of clients that best fits my business." - Lisa

Answer: Thank you so much for this question, Lisa! I'd love to answer your question by sharing part of my story, because I know exactly how you feel.

How I Stay Organized in my Business

Over my 3 years of business, I have learned the importance of organization and how it can save time, stress, and even money. Yes. money! I have sent the wrong files to print, had to make extra trips around town, misplaced files, etc. all from a lack of organization. No bueno! Nothing like an all-nighter, or money out of your own pocket to teach you that your biz needs a little tidying up!

How to Write Your About Me Page

I am so excited to introduce you to my copywriter go-to, Madison Whiteneck of Keeping the Creativity. Madison helped me write the copy for my website and other various projects, and is my saving grace when I'm simply stuck with words. She was so kind to help us all out with writing that (sometimes dreaded) About Me web page, and she even included an About Me Page Formula freebie (grab it below!)

The 3 C's of a Good Brand

I talk a lot about branding. I rarely use the word "logo", and even when referring to your "business" I instead use the word "brand". I see branding as something all encompassing. Your logo is just one piece, your business is the work you do, and your brand is the entire essence of what you are presenting to the world.

Why you need an intern

I know I am biased, but I have been pretty darn lucky to have some of the best interns in the state of Sweet Home Alabama. For the past 2 years, I have shared interns every semester with my biz bestie Jessica, and we have hosted some pretty talented (and fun) college talent. Over the years we have refined the process, gotten professional with our systems and paperwork, and we will be sharing more about that at our free webinar on March 7 (click here to view more)

3 Ways to Brand Your Instagram (and get new followers)

Your brand is so much more than your logo (you'll hear me say this A LOT!). It's the way you create your website, its the clothes you wear, the way you speak, and the way you style your instagram! Instagram is currently a really powerful tool for growing your business, and when used well, it can even bring in some big dollars. For me, over half of my clients find me on instagram, but it wasn't always this way. This biggest lesson I learned for my brand (and my instagram) is consistency.
